Dark Chocolate dipped Figs

These figs are from a fig tree that is over 30 years old in my dads garden. He planted the tree from a branch that my grandfather gave to him before he died.

 

Dark Chocolate dipped Figs

Ingredients
  1. 6 nice fresh ripe figs
  2. 100g of organic dark chocolate as dark as possible
  3. 1/2 cup of whole hazelnuts
  4. 1/4 cup of flaked almonds
Instructions
  1. Slice your figs length ways in half
  2. In a hand blender pulse the hazelnuts first until chopped coarsely then add the almonds and pulse for a few seconds to become coarse like the hazelnuts. Pour into a flat plate.
  3. Place dark chocolate into a bowl to be melted either in the microwave or stove top (in a bowl over simmering water in a saucepan) and stir.
  4. Dip your figs half way into the dark chocolate then roll into the nuts and place on a flat baking tray lined with baking paper.
  5. Place tray in the fridge for an hour to set.
  6. Enjoy
